“We must become the change we wish to see in the world.” - Mahatma Gandhi

Dearest Friend,

Wherever we turn, we hear tragic stories on almost a daily basis. Some are close to home, in our communities of friends and neighbors, and others we hear about are far away, in other parts of the world. We ask ourselves: what can we do?

Sometimes, it seems overwhelming. Especially when faced with the many obligations of our own busy lives, the easiest thing is to turn inward, away from the troubles of the world. Yet, somehow this leads to a lingering sense of dissatisfaction. We cannot feel completely at peace while others are suffering. Deep down, each of us know that in some way, all people are connected by a common thread - by our common HUMANITY. Take a moment to picture in your mind the tallest, strongest oak tree you have ever seen. Now consider: such a tree once began its life as a fragile seed blowing in the wind, did it not? What we would like to do is to spread a few seeds around - seeds of HOPE. This is how the idea for Hope for Humanity was born. Our goal is to harness the power of connectedness, come together as friends and family to accomplish something worthwhile by creating a positive change in the lives of others, who are under privileged and needy.
