FAQ’s

Q:        How does Hope for Humanity differ from other charity organizations?

A:         We aim to be a grass-roots effort which will grow and flourish from the efforts and enthusiasm of our volunteers. We strongly believe, spreading the word among friends and family will have a much more meaningful purpose and life long connection for generations to come. Plus, all members will have an opportunity for working together with one aim which is, helping with humanitarian causes as directly as possible. Thus each of us can participate in the process and feel that we are making a difference instead of standing on the sidelines. We mainly try to focus on the projects that have immediate outcome and results provided by our social workers working within the organization so we know how well we are doing.

Q:        How will my contributions be used?

A:         Our goal is to have virtually no overhead costs, with 100% of donated funds going directly to the most worthwhile projects we can find. And it is our Board of Directors, donors and volunteers who will seek out and suggest worthy causes for our organization to support, as well as bring feedback on the effectiveness of these causes.  We also believe in supporting diversity of projects to fulfill the donor’s wishes provided they are within the guidelines set by Hope for Humanity.

Q:        How do we determine whether a particular cause is worthy of our support?

A:         We keep in mind a set of basic principles when choosing a cause to support. These are:

1.       Is this mission exists to help poor and needy and others without any other political or social agenda?

2.       How well do we know a particular social worker within the organization?

3.       Will they provide financial statistics and accounting transparency regarding the use of our funds?

4.       How much of their budget is spent on overhead?

5.       How satisfied are we with the response, feedback and material we receive from the organization?

6.       Is the agency we support, a well-recognized non-profit organization?

Q:        What can we do to help?

A:         The most important thing you can do is to become involved in some way- as little or much as you like. Become involved through education and awareness, and bring any new ideas you might have to the group. Help spread the word about what we are doing. Let’s especially try to involve our kids and the youthful among us, who we know are bright, energetic and full of ideas. Suggest a worthwhile cause that might benefits from our attention, and brief us with data to support the cause. When you visit India as a member of our group, you will have a unique opportunity to seek out worthy causes through personal contacts, and relaying your feedback to the group. Please discuss any questions or concerns openly with the group so we can improve our performance. Even  the longest journey begins with one small step. Take that step with us, and let us begin this journey together.
