Rehabilitate orphans and people with special needs

Introduction

Abhaya Kshethram has been conceived by Dr. Thasleem Sultana to provide residential care and training for disabled orphans and people with special needs (Mentally Challenged, Visually Impaired, Hearing Impaired, Loco motor Impaired). Abhaya Kshetram is located in Renigunta near Tirupati. Currently, there are 200 residents, comprised of orphans of all ages with special needs.

The residents are housed in five buildings and are well managed by Dr. Sultana who takes care of all of their daily needs, e.g. ensuring nutritious meals on a daily basis, clothes and medications, etc. Dr. Sultana is a Gold medalist in special education from Sri Padmavati Mahita Viswa Vidyalayam, Tirupati. Unfortunately, Abhaya Kshethram does not receive any government funds as most of orphans do not have Aadhar Cards. Most of them don't know their birth places and birth dates.

Program Details

Hope for Humanity has been partnering with Abhaya Shekthram for last four years, so donors can provide Annadanam (Act of providing food) to these residents on their special occasions or special occasions of their loved ones such as Birthdays, Anniversaries Memorials etc.  A single special meal sponsorship with medicines costs $100 or Rs. 7000. Three normal meals (B'fast, lunch and dinner) costs $100 or Rs. 7000. These plans are listed in the following table. You can add additional amount  which can help provide for essential items like medicines for the residents.

Abhaya Kshethram celebrates the special occasion by conducting and organizing the Annadanam on the name of the donor (or on behalf of their loved ones). Thasleem who heads Abhaya Kshethram will send Annadanam pictures, videos and any greeting cards and letters created by the residents in the organization directly to the sponsors on the same day of the event.

It has been quiet a difficult time for Abhaya Kshethram during Covid19 lockdown in India. We started a Coronavirus Fund also to help Abhaya Kshethram during the lockdown situation.
