Vocational Training
Program Details
Vocational Training is by definition training the skills needed for a particular job or profession. Through the program we are providing valuable skills needed for various jobs i.e cashier / data entry jobs at supermakets. Communication and Computer Skills are the two primary focus areas. Goal is to provide standardized training on these skills with Andhra Pradesh Academy of Skill & Knowledge (APASK) and assistance on Job placement.
Our computer training centre started on December 2012 and our first batch of Vocational Training program started January 2013 with a goal to provide Vocational Training for needy women. We conducted assessment on various skills which provided dignified and sustainable livelihoods. Based on our strengths and results of the assessment we selected the following skills for vocational training.
Skills
We had collaborations with NIIT up to the year 2018 and now we joined with Andhra Pradesh Academy of Skill & Knowledge (APASK). APASK has 16 years of experience and shaped more than 10,000 IT Professionals with its quality IT Training. Here are the following skills provided to the students
Communication Skills:
Develop basic professional communication skills in Telugu and English. Also enhance basic numerical ability. This also includes basic marketing skills.
Computer Skills:
- Computer fundamentals
- MS Office
- Tally (accounting Package)
- DTP (Desktop Publishing)
- Billing systems
PROCESS
We appointed qualified, experienced staff members to support this program. We also partnered with APASK for certification of the program so that student's learning is directly recognized by employers.
The minimum qualifications for joining the program is either a pass or fail in S.S.C. We are selecting women based on applications we received and also on the financial situation of the applicant.
Program Completion - 2019 Batch
RESULTS
The course duration is around six months. So far 382 needy women enrolled in this program and 350 women have completed needed courses and certified by NIIT or APASK. So far 196 women got placements. 44 women are pursuing further studies and 15 of them are continuing the program. There were 17 women dropped out during the program.
